My Roots

I've grown up exploring the Pacific Northwest — from snow caving on Mt. Baker to hiking the Enchantments in a day. The outdoors taught me to stay calm, adapt quickly, and build solutions from whatever I have available, a mindset I bring to every project I work on.

My Design Journey

My journey to software design and development began in sixth grade. Back then, I had an LG phone with a tiny screen and a slow processor, but despite it, I still had hundreds of apps on my home page. Even at that age, I was captivated by how small mobile tools made my world instantly bigger.

That fascination has only grown, yet when I share useful apps with friends and family, I keep hearing the same thing: "It's too complicated." Apps with real potential to improve lives often only reach the tech-savvy. And as AI and technology evolve, we run the risk of widening the digital divide, but I believe through thoughtful, accessible design, we can build bridges.

Software has the potential to empower and make our daily endeavors easier, but it all starts with human-centered design. Good design should be so intuitive it flies right over your head and just "makes sense". That is my goal as a designer and builder.
